As unproductive as weekends in the hospital can be, I actually was thankful for the quiet time! I was able to get some much-needed rest.
So, quick update. Dr. Wilson is finally here today, so we have a bit of a game plan. The bacterial and viral cultures are still negative, so most likely I do not have a central line infection. But the antibiotics are still being run, just in case. My ferritin level and liver counts have not spiked, so this is not an obvious HLH flare, either. I have been known to have my HLH markers appear very gradually, though, so we are keeping this in our minds as a possibility.
My blood counts have continued to drop. I will be getting a transfusion in about half an hour, so that will at least boost up my hemoglobin, and will hopefully increase my energy. It is not impossible that some sort of virus has hit me very hard, but my symptoms are not particularly indicative of this. Tomorrow I will have a bone marrow biopsy to determine whether or not I have developed any new issues. Please remember me in your prayers! It would be fantastic if I did not experience paralysis as a side effect of anesthesia this time!
Papa is taking good care of Miss Alice Eloise. I had been teaching her not to bark or run when the doorbell rings. Dad told me that a doorbell rang on TV yesterday. She did not run or bark, but her ears perked up expectantly. She was most likely anticipating that her mama would be waltzing on in with a rewarding piece of bologna and a heart-felt “well done”! I am proud of my little service dog (in training)!
Thanks for checking in… I do believe I have the most supportive family and friends I could ask for!
